The Seoul International Electric Fair (SIEF) was first held in June 1994, to promote Korea's exports and its technological development. The fair is the nation's largest exhibition in the area of electric power generation and transmission/distribution. SIEF was honored as a "Promising Exhibition by the Korean government for six consecutive years, and was acknowledged as a highly credible event at home and overseas. Various other special events take place at SIEF, including an awards ceremony sponsored by the government honoring those who have made great contribution to export promotion or technological development.
